Friday Faves & Finds (3.23.18)

week in review

Happy Friday! The Vernal Equinox was on Tuesday, marking the first official day of Spring. We’ve had lots of spring showers this week, so I’m hoping for a bit of sunshine this weekend. Last weekend we went to the first Presidio Picnic of the season; we ate lots of delicious food, hung out on the grass with friends, and even squeezed in a short, toddler paced hike. This weekend I’d like to make a trip across the Bay to Tilden Little Farm. Have you been? I’d love to hear about your weekend plans, so share them in the comments below!

Easter is next weekend. Are you dying eggs with your kiddos? Here is a huge roundup of unique ways to dye eggs if you need some inspiration.

What do you think about “Beach Movies” as their own genre? I have only seen two movies from this list, but now know what I’ll be watching in preparation for summer!

Speaking of things to watch, are you binge-watching any good TV shows these days? I’m on a documentary kick right now, looking forward to a new episode of American Dynasties: The Kennedys this Sunday. I also just read this review about Wild Wild Country on Netflix and it sounds crazy!

My go-to lunch lately has been a big salad (baby lettuces, wild rice, hard boiled egg/chicken, feta + spicy pecans) with poppy seed dressing. This dressing is simple to make and perfect for spring.

Just bought tickets to see San Francisco Ballet’s Unbound: A Festival of New Works, and I’m so excited! It’s nice to have something special to look forward to, especially with all of this gray, rainy weather.

In case you missed it. . .

Diana tackled the mental load of motherhood and how to get the conversation started with your partner to better balance the household responsibilities.

Annabelle declared moms need to take sick days just like every other member of the family.

We unveiled our amazing Burke Williams prize for our Mommy Madness Tournament. There’s plenty of time to enter to win!

Callie calms your concerns about getting your baby to sleep when you travel with lots of practical advice.

We reminded you to grab your tickets for the Junior League of San Francisco’s Touch-A-Truck event on April 22nd.

Elisa walks us through how to sleep train ourselves because, let’s face it, our babies aren’t the only ones who need help sleeping.

Kelly motivates us to book a last minute trip up to Northstar in Tahoe and explains how to make the most of it with kids in tow.

And over at Mid-Peninsula. . .

Advice for helping your babies sleep at night; an internal struggle over buying a minivan; a big realization about potty training kids; what it’s like to mother as a highly emotive person; why preschoolers should be at the March for Our Lives rally.
